Design and Construction
The project, for the State Government of Tamaulipas, is being developed for an SME industrial park for logistics purposes. The tracks were designed to connect to KCSM’s main tracks and enter the park with a direct access road to a cross dock warehouse. The penetration roadway has a small sidings to have the capacity to receive loads and deliver empties. The earthworks, drainage and railroad tracks were built. The tracks were constructed with 100 lbs/yd welded rail, RNY concrete sleepers and AREMA 4th limestone ballast. A direct connection was added to the second KCSM track by means of a No. 11 BNSF-UP switch set. A No. 10 Conrail switch set was installed for the inner rail.
