Phase II Expansion of Automotive Yard 10 km Mercedes/Nissan

Design and engineering, executive project, permits, construction, installation of switchgear on main road, signaling of switchgear with ILPAC traffic light, level crossing signaling, aluminothermic welding, stress relief, relocation of hot stump detector booth.

Design and Construction

This project included the expansion of the yard by 10 km of track with 8 sets of No. 10 switches for the reception and dispatch of 100 additional Automaxes and three Automax car loading spurs. Mechanical soil studies, environmental impact studies and hydrological studies were carried out. Formalities with CNA, SCT, FXE and Semarnat. A 1.5 km extension of the consolidation track (ladero) was built on FXE’s right-of-way for dispatching units.

Design and engineering, executive project and permits were completed. Construction of 100,000 m³ of earthworks, 1.5 km of retaining walls, drainage, signaling of 5 level crossings and construction of 10 km of track with concrete sleepers, elastic fastening, welded 115RE rail, and the installation of 13 sets of No. 10 AREMA switches. The connection to the main track was made with No. 15 AREMA switch sets insulated with ILPAC switch light.

In addition, 2,800 m² and 1 km of roadway were built with concrete pads for loading and unloading vehicles. The construction was carried out on operating tracks and was coordinated with the plant to minimize the impact on operations.
