Shuttlewagon NVX 7035 - 2017
The NVX Series capacity range is from 38,000 lbs to 85,000 lbs of tractive effort, with single or double coupling. The Navigator Series can move up to 60 loaded railcars without weight transfer coupling. Stemming from the success of the longer SWX840, launched in 2011, the Navigator series includes four shorter models. Each Navigator model features the industry’s only mobile railcar movers using a pivoting drive axle and rail guide system, all in one assembly. The system is very similar to locomotive bogies, allowing them to pivot and turn along the rails.
Main Features
- Tractive Capacity: Ranges from 38,000 lbs to 85,000 lbs, depending on the coupling configuration (single or double).
- Railcar Moving Capacity: Can move up to 60 loaded railcars without the need for weight transfer coupling.
- Drive Axles: Equipped with heavy-duty Meritor planetary drive axles, improving durability and performance.
- Rail Guidance System: Includes a rail guidance system that allows for more stable and secure navigation, especially in tight curves of up to 70 degrees.
- Full-Width Cab: Provides panoramic visibility and features a rotating operator console, improving safety by reducing blind spots.
- Air Suspension Seats: Two seats designed to maximize operator comfort, reducing fatigue during long work shifts.
Our CANbus electrical system uses state-of-the-art technology, offering features and benefits to operators and maintenance personnel that were previously unavailable. The operator can now view all critical information about the railcar mover’s readiness on the computer display. Maintenance personnel can access diagnostic information for the engine and other components, reducing downtime for maintenance.
The full-width crossover cab has complete 360-degree visibility, a 72-inch roof height, sliding windows, and a 180-degree rotating console. Rail operations can be conducted from either of the two operator seats, which have four-way positioning on each side of the cab. Roof-mounted defroster fans, map lights, red/white roof lights, and power adapter receptacles are all easily accessible.
Our anti-lock braking system (ABS) and anti-slip traction control (ATC) prevent tire slippage along the rail during braking, as well as excessive tire spin during movement. Since the system is automatic and reacts much faster than an operator, it greatly improves tire life and allows the operator to focus on maneuvering activities.
