Shuttlewagon SWX 420 - 2009
The Shuttlewagon Commander series defines railcar switching operations for today’s needs. Powerful, versatile, and reliable, it incorporates the most advanced technologies available to ensure that safety and reliability are never compromised. The Shuttlewagon SWX 420 provides 30,000 lbs of tractive effort, allowing it to move heavy loads effectively and efficiently in various industrial applications.
Main Features
- Maximum Tractive Force: Up to 30,000 lbs from a single coupler, enabling efficient operation under various conditions.
- Full-Width Cab: Provides panoramic visibility and features a rotating operator console, enhancing safety by reducing blind spots.
- Rail Guidance System: Includes a guidance system that allows for stable and secure navigation, facilitating movement in tight curves.
- Air Suspension Seats: Two ergonomically designed seats that offer comfort during long work shifts, helping to reduce operator fatigue.
- Air-Knife System: This advanced system allows for drying the rails in adverse weather conditions, increasing operational capacity by up to 50% and improving safety.
Our CANbus electrical system uses cutting-edge technology, offering features and benefits to operators and maintenance personnel that were previously unavailable. The operator can now view all critical information regarding the railcar mover’s readiness on the computerized display. Maintenance personnel can access diagnostic information for the engine and other components, reducing downtime for maintenance.
The full-width crossover cab offers 360-degree visibility, a 72-inch roof height, sliding windows, and a 180-degree rotating console. Rail operations can be conducted from both sides of the cab, with two operator seats offering four-way positioning on each side. Roof-mounted defroster fans, map lights, red/white dome light, and power adapter receptacles are all easily accessible.
Our anti-lock braking system (ABS) and anti-slip traction control (ATC) prevent tire slippage along the rail during braking and excessive tire spin during movement. Since the system is automatic and reacts much faster than an operator, it greatly improves tire life and allows the operator to focus on maneuvering tasks.
