Two (2) heavy-duty cast steel weight transfer couplers. Positive coupling is achieved with the contoured head design of the AAR-approved coupler. The automatic weight transfer couplers are hydraulically controlled from the operator’s cab for maximum ease in coupling and uncoupling railcars. The release of the coupler knuckles is air cylinder activated and also controlled from the operator’s cab.
Isolation mounts located between the operator’s cab and the body frame, as well as between the body frame and the main frame, to reduce noise and vibration levels.
The electrically operated defroster fan is mounted above the front windshield in the operator’s cab. It is used to remove moisture, condensation, and/or frost from the window glass area.
