Description
The Manganese Steel Toad #10 is an essential component in the railroad system, known as the “common crossing”, facilitating the movement of wheels between tracks. It forms a fundamental part of the track switching hardware, occupying the space where two rails intersect, noted for its nose and wing rails.
With a length of 16′-6“ and 23‘-0”, this manganese steel toad has a length of 16′-6“ and 23’-0”. this manganese steel toad excels on heavy and/or high speed main lines, especially in areas with significant traffic on both sides of the crossing. Its robust construction is achieved by a manganese steel body casting, installed between four specially fabricated rails from standard T-rails. Heat-treated bolting ensures a strong and durable connection.
These manganese steel toads feature a substantial insert section and a heavier-walled manganese steel core, designed to withstand more severe service environments. Manufactured to AREMA standards, they meet or exceed all requirements for impact and wear resistance at railroad crossings.
